The answer is “NO”. It is not common practice for builders to add longer screws to entry door hinges and strike plates. They pop the doors in and move on to the next task. The short screws that come with the door will be just fine and last for years — until someone tries to break in.
The vast majority of doors are just the way the installer left them. It’s a simple and inexpensive upgrade to an entry door that is often overlooked. I’ve repaired and re-enforced many an entry door for clients — after the fact.
Atlanta Property matters will add additional re-enforcement to entry doors so would be thieves bounce-off rather than “pop in”.
