Recently I had a client who pressed his finger against a discoloration on his baseboard and pushed a hole through it while cleaning up a “wet spot” on the floor. He complained of having to clean up a wet spot every time it rained.
I did some exploratory demolition and discovered quite a bit of water damage, but first I had to repair the source of the leak. I traced the leak to a missing “kick out” flashing that the roofers had forgotten to install about 8 years prior. I installed the flashing and stopped the leak. I then set to work on the water damage. I replaced a bottom plate, two wall studs, exterior window trim and drywall. I then caulked and painted. When it was done, it looked just like new. I always like to find and repair the source of a problem.
My customers want to know that their problem has been solved permanently at an affordable price.
