Greater than the sum of its parts. Putting things together is only part of being a good play set assembler.
I also had to be concerned about the children’s safety during the construction of the play set, and what I could do to address hazards. Some of what we dealt with was orientation of the swings, slide and monkey bars. Also, I discovered a yellow jacket nest within a few feet of the play set which I took care of immediately.
Kids run, jump, trip and fall all over the place and I had to take that into account at every step, including making sure that there were no screws or splinters sticking out, or sharp metal edges to get cut on, and double checking to make sure all fasteners were tight. There were many other considerations during the assembly process, but for me the children’s safety was the most important.
