I recently had a client who wanted a wall to look like one she found in a magazine. Her plain wall needed a little sprucing up. We added a chair rail moulding and “picture frame” moulding below it.
Not too difficult, right? Well it wasn’t for me because I knew in order to get the best results, I needed to measure out the frames on the wall to make sure they were properly spaced and wouldn’t land right on an outlet or other wall plate.
In this case, that actually happened, and I was able to make a minor adjustment to the spacing so that the finished product looked uniform and seamless, just like her picture.
So if you know if anyone who is trying to revitalize a tired living space, then be sure to give them my card, and I can certainly make that happen, even if my only instructions are a magazine picture!
