A great example of the right tool for the right job is a “router and jig” versus a “hammer and chisel”.
With a hammer and chisel a handyman can carve out insets for door hinges, but they tend to be ugly and uneven. Yes, it will work, but it looks bad. However, using a jig and router will allow me to shape perfect factory door hinge insets in about the same amount of time it would take to chisel them out by hand — a much nicer finish you would expect from a professional.
There are occasions when a hammer and chisel ARE the right tool for the right job. Knowing the difference and having the correct tool is an important part of being a professional Handyman.
